10 hours, 60 poets and £30,000 raised for refugees and asylum seekers!
The Brighton Poem-a-thon at Komedia demonstrated the power of creative people coming together with an intention to make a difference in the world. Local poets and some from further afield were sponsored to perform 8 minutes sets to a constantly changing audience as people came in and out during the day. Books, cake, raffle tickets and a silent auction raised further funds – money going to the Refugee Council and the Refugee Bus Project. Amazing.
“You have a wonderful eye for colour and light. You really captured the warmth and atmosphere of the day. Thank you!” – Michaela, event organiser
